BackTrax consists of a powerful rhythm
section driven by the beat of Al Duerr on the drums and by the sub sounds of
Wayne Jellish on the bass.
Jellish has over the years provided the vision,
leadership, and glue for the BackTrax band’s longevity - now in its 24th year.
His music career started in Ashland as a member of a teenage cover band and he
has continued to play in bands throughout his adult life. Wayne has also
been an outstanding teacher and recently won the Crystal Apple Award for
elementary school teaching.
Duerr has been playing polkas and other
popular cover songs throughout his musical career. He loves Elvis and
has won or placed high in several Elvis impersonator contests.
Adding a complimentary keyboard sound and
saxophone on top of this rhythmic bottom line is Donnie Keiffer, known for
years as one of the premiere country sideman in the upper Midwest.
Everyone knows Donnie and his credentials as a seasoned experienced musician.
Rounding out the band is Don Kerper.
In bands since the age of 15, Kerper has focused his guitar playing on
the blues as well as that folk rock sound of the Eagles, Doobies, and CSNY.
Kerper has also been an award winning songwriter and radio jingle writer in
the past.
On occasion, Aaron Jellish joins the band
as well. He is considered by many as one of the top modern rock
guitarists in WI. Aaron lives in the Milwaukee area and plays in the
band "Cheap
Shots".
